Leírás

The Rauzy gasket is a subset of the standard two-simplex, representing an important subset of parameter space in numerous settings.
As a fractal attractor, it is projective, parabolic and non-conformal; meaning that even the most trivial bounds on its (Hausdorff) dimension are hard to obtain.
In this hybrid talk (featuring joint work with Mark Pollicott), we discuss how an elementary method, using renewal theory and Markov partitions, leads to the best known upper bound on its dimension.
