In this talk I will state the 4 main postulates of quantum mechanics which for our purposes can be thought of as the "axioms" of the theory (we will treat the finite dimensional case in order to focus on the main conceptual novelties).
I will explain the basic concepts such as superposition, entanglement and quantum circuits.
Then I will state some important results about quantum computing and communicationincluding Bell inequalities, quantum Fourier transformation, and the famous MIP^* = RE result. Finally, I will mention some interesting open problems. In particular a question about a curious new represetnation of polynomials.
