Savelii Skresanov: Diameters of orbital graphs of affine permutation groups

Abstract:

For a finite permutation group G on X, its orbits on the set of pairs X x X are called orbital graphs. If G is primitive, then all its nondiagonal orbital graphs are connected and one is interested in bounding their diameter. In this talk we will present the recent progress in bounding orbital diameters of primitive affine permutation groups, and will discuss the connections of this topic to questions from model theory, additive combinatorics and number theory.
