Title: Splitting of graphs and groups and its applications
Abstract: Stallings' celebrated theorem states that every finitely generated group G with more than one end splits over a finite subgroup, i.e. that G can be written as a free product with amalgamation or an HNN-extension over a finite subgroup.
In this talk, we present a graph-theoretical version of Stallings' theorem for transitive graphs with more than one end.
In addition, we present some applications of our result for accessible groups, virtually free groups, hyperbolic groups, and planar groups.
