To celebrate the 120th anniversary of von Neumann’s birth, the John von Neumann Society is preparing a series of commemorative events.
"Our aim is to make the von Neumann heritage as accessible as possible."
One of the outstanding events of the year will be the International Informatics Student Olympiad (IOI) in Szeged. The anniversary also played a role in Hungary winning the event.
On September 14, lectures related to Neumann's work will be held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences with the participation of renowned domestic and foreign scientists.
On September 15 the prestigious commemoration continues at the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics : Alain Connes, Matthew Foreman, Klaus Schmidt and William Hugh Woodin will be given the scientific lectures.
