Gábor Damásdi, Dániel Gerbner, István Tamás Kolossváry and Attila Lovas, young mathematicians of the Rényi Institute, have been awarded the MTA Bolyai János Research Scholarship. This year, the Board of Trustees awarded the grants to a total of 155 applicants.
The Bolyai János Research Scholarship is a merit-based, highly prestigious, national scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which aims to encourage and recognise outstanding research and development performance among young researchers. It also aims to help prepare students for the award of a doctorate of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Established in 1997, the Bolyai Scholarship is an academic support scheme that provides a bridge between the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Academy's doctoral students and the younger generation of researchers. It is important to provide the latter with predictability and planning for the period after obtaining their PhD degree until they start their independent research careers. Congratulations!
